The EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD, accompanied by members of the EYN National Standing Committee (NSC), visited the families of three Michika youths who were abducted and killed last week. The visit was a show of solidarity and support for the grieving families.
During the visit, Rev. Mbaya offered words of condolence, prayed with the families, and reiterated the church’s commitment to supporting those affected by violence and insecurity in the region. He also pledged that the Church will make all efforts to ensure that the government puts an end to this barbaric act that has been robbing communities of many promising youths.
The gesture was widely appreciated by the families and the community, who saw it as a reminder that they are not alone in their struggles. Mr. Peter Tizhe Nguda, brother of Late Kwaji Tizhe, expressed gratitude to EYN Leadership for their show of love, despite his brother being from ECWA church. He said their visit is a great consolation to the family and makes him feel that his brother did not die in vain.
The three victims, all Christians, were from different churches in Michika, Late Joshua Kwaji from EYN LCC Che, DCC Watu, Late Nuhu Zakariya from EYN LCC Himikeless, DCC Futu, and Late Kwaji Tizhe from ECWA Church Michika.
