Proper Documentation in EYN Strengthens Church Growth and Accountability
The President of EYN-Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, has emphasized the critical role of proper documentation in strengthening administration, accountability, and sustainable growth within the church.
Speaking during the EYN Headquarters Staff Morning Devotion, he stressed that accurate record-keeping remains essential for effective church management and long-term institutional memory.

Key Registers Dedicated for Effective Church Administration
As part of ongoing reforms aimed at promoting Proper Documentation in EYN, the church formally dedicated three major official registers:
1. Marriage Register
Rev. Mbaya described the Marriage Register as a vital legal and historical document used to authenticate marriages conducted within the church.
He noted that the renewed use of the register will help correct past gaps in documentation while ensuring that future marriages are properly recorded and verifiable.
2. Child Dedication Register
The President highlighted that maintaining a Child Dedication Register is crucial for accountability, family tracking, and preserving church history.
He explained that accurate documentation enables the church to maintain reliable records of families and ensures that all spiritual milestones are properly captured.
3. New Convert Register
According to Rev. Mbaya, the New Convert Register is a strategic tool for church growth, discipleship follow-up, and leadership planning.
He stated that the system will help identify genuine converts, monitor spiritual development, and promote transparency in reporting church growth statistics.

Media Advancements Signal Institutional Growth
Beyond record-keeping, the devotion also witnessed the dedication of new media assets, reflecting the expanding capacity of EYN Media.
Dedicated Media Items
-
A newly acquired drone camera to enhance professional coverage of church activities
-
Newly customized EYN Media jackets to improve identification and operational efficiency during events
Rev. Mbaya described these developments as clear indicators of the church’s commitment to modernization and effective communication.
He urged members to embrace technology as a necessary tool for advancing ministry outreach and keeping pace with global developments.

Commitment to Order, Accountability, and Obedience
The EYN President noted that the dedication of the registers and media tools reflects leadership’s broader commitment to ensuring that church systems remain organized, transparent, and positioned for future growth.
He emphasized that obedience to proper processes, especially in documentation and administration, strengthens institutional credibility and supports sustainable expansion.
Aligning with the Church Theme
Rev. Mbaya concluded by noting that these developments align with the church’s annual theme, which encourages believers to remain disciplined, faithful, and committed to doing things in the right way until the end.
He stated that maintaining proper records and embracing modernization demonstrates practical obedience that contributes to the overall prosperity and progress of the church.
