Late. Rev. Hassan Buried on August 19th 2025
Late Reverend Hassan Markus was laid to rest in his hometown of Malang, located in Haul Local Government Area of Borno State. The funeral service, held at EYN LCC Malang under the Marama DCC, was attended by EYN Ministers and their wives, family, friends, and members of the EYN Church community.
Words of Comfort and Reflection
EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C Mbaya, PhD, delivered a heartfelt message at the burial, offering words of comfort to the bereaved family and the entire EYN congregation. Drawing inspiration from 1 Corinthians 15, he reminded attendees of the hope found in resurrection and eternal life. He urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith, especially during these challenging times in the nation.
Rev. Mbaya also addressed the youth, encouraging them to live as true Christians in all aspects of life. He concluded his remarks with prayers for the Malang community, asking for divine guidance, protection, and blessings.

A Life of Service and Faith
Rev. Hassan Markus was born on October 26, 1973, to Mr. Markus Kigama and Mrs. Rhoda Mwada. His educational journey included:
- Malang Primary School
- Jacusko Secondary School
- ECWA Seminary, Kurkargadu
- Madu Bible College, Marama
- John Gulli Bible School, Michika
He was ordained as a full minister on July 27, 2025, and tragically passed away just three weeks later, on August 16, 2025.
Family and Ministry
Rev. Markus was married to Mrs. Halima Saidu, and together they were blessed with eight children four sons and four daughters. His ministry spanned several locations:
- EYN LCB Ngasam (2 years)
- EYN LCC Dayar (6 years)
- EYN Jabolamba (4 years)
- EYN LCC Madagali (until his passing)
Final Sermon and Farewell
Rev. Kefas Ngari delivered the sermon at the funeral, drawing from Psalm 90. He reminded the congregation of the brevity of life and the certainty of death, urging everyone to live in readiness for their eternal home.
Rev. Hassan Markus is remembered for his unwavering commitment to the gospel and his deep love for the church and community. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the faith he exemplified.
