Abuja, Nigeria – The EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, PhD, has unveiled plans to establish the Brethren Care Center, Sunday School unit, Prayer Unit, Estate Unit, Brethren University, Brethren Radio and Television, as well as organize periodic Zoom meetings with all youths of EYN.

The President, who attended the Sunday Worship service yesterday, alongside Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, EYN Vice President and Rev. James K. Musa, EYN General Secretary at EYN LCC Utako, Abuja on 20 October 2024, explained that the need for this units in the Church is vital for fulfilling the vision of the new administration.
” The vision God gave us when we were elected to office is a “united Living church, deeply rooted in the word of God Spiritually, numerically and materially prosperous“. To achieve this, he said “We have since engage aggressively in healing, reconciliation and restoration amongst and within the members of the congregation. Our vision for the establishment of Brethren University, Brethren Radio and Television are on course. On establishing Sunday School Unit, Estate Unit as well as Prayer Unit at the EYN Headquarters, we are on course, and all have already received the blessings of NEC”.

Rev. Mbaya also announced the need to engage EYN Youth in a periodic Zoom meeting to Listen to their concerns and ideas, empowering them for the Church’s growth. “The EYN Youth are full of potentials, capable of lifting the Church to greater heights if harnessed,” Rev. Mbaya said. “This administration will listen to you, provide opportunities for service, and empower you to utilize your God-given talents.”

For the Brethren Care Center, Rev. Mbaya also highlighted that it will foster an online central data management system with volunteer members offering expertise across various professions with opportunities for members in need to seek counsel and assistance. He however cautioned that the center will be advisory, not a platform for settling financial obligations.
He addressed past controversies, including election disputes and division during the Centenary celebrations and urged members to focus on serving God, rather than dwelling on past pains. He cautioned against negativity, gossip, and lying, urging members to unite and focus on serving God. Pastors were reminded to use the pulpit for edification, not personal grudges, and to resist deceptive theologies.
On a lighter note, the President appreciated the congregation for their prayers and sacrifices, leading to the successful 2024 Annual General Council (MAJALISA) and the transition of new leaders ascribing the success to God. “We are witnesses to what God has done; it is His doing and is marvelous in the sight of those who accepted it as truly the Lord’s doing.”
