Roy Winter dedicates CSS hostel in Kwarhi as Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN) rebuilds a once-destroyed facility, restoring hope for students and strengthening the future of education in Adamawa State.

The project was officially commissioned on March 25, 2026, during the 79th Majalisa held at the EYN Headquarters in Kwarhi, Hong Local Government Area. The annual gathering, which runs from March 24 to 27, brought together church leaders and members to deliberate on key issues affecting the Church and society.

The hostel, previously reduced to ashes by fire, has now been reconstructed into a functional facility, providing renewed accommodation for students of Comprehensive Secondary School (CSS) Kwarhi.

Speaking during the ceremony, Rev. Roy Winter of the Brethren Disaster Relief Ministry described the project as more than a physical structure.

“This is not just a building; it is a commitment to the future of these children,” he said.

Roy Winter dedicates CSS hostel at a time when many institutions across Nigeria continue to struggle with poor infrastructure, raising concerns about government neglect in the education sector.

The newly rebuilt hostel consists of a block of six rooms, designed to provide a safe and conducive environment for learning and personal development.

Referencing the teachings of Jesus Christ, Rev. Winter emphasized the value of children, noting how Christ welcomed them despite opposition.

“Jesus made it clear that the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these,” he stated, urging stakeholders to prioritize young people.

Quoting Jeremiah 29, he added, “For I know the plans I have for you,” reinforcing the message that children are central to the future of both the Church and society.

Roy Winter dedicates CSS hostel with a strong message that investing in education is critical to raising responsible citizens and promoting peace.

“If we invest rightly in them today, we secure peace for tomorrow,” he added.

The re-dedication of the hostel highlights EYN’s resilience and commitment to youth development, even in the face of adversity, while raising broader questions about the role of authorities in supporting educational infrastructure.
