According to reports filed by EYN Church officials in Chibok, seven persons—including teenage girls and nursing mothers—were abducted when Boko Haram insurgents attacked Shikarkir community on 12 November 2025. The attackers, riding on 15 motorcycles, stormed the area at about 5:45 p.m and whisked away with the victims.
The abducted individuals are reported to include:
-
Two teenage daughters age 17 & 15, of a COCIN Pastor Yusufu Inuwa
-
Mrs. Ndzari Daniel, a nursing mother, with her 6-month-old and 2-year-old children
-
Mrs. Lidiya Smith, a nursing mother, with her infant, Comfort Smith
Though no lives were lost in this specific attack, villagers are currently living in the bush, enduring cold and harsh weather due to fear of further assaults.
The incident has intensified growing outcry among Christians in Chibok, who say the repeated attacks across their communities amount to a deliberate and ongoing genocide. Church leaders note that the victims in recent incidents—including the latest attack in Shikarkir, the killing earlier this month, and the assault on nearby Kautikari—all belonged to Christian families.
Earlier Killing in Shikarkir
EYN officials also confirmed that on 1 November 2025, Boko Haram fighters attacked the same community at about 5:03 p.m., killing Mr. Yohana Ibrahim, a young Christian man preparing for his wedding in December 2025.
Attack on Kautikari
Another assault was reported in Kautikari on 13 November 2025, though details regarding casualties or abductions were not yet available as at the time of filing the report.
EYN Leadership Calls for Swift Intervention
The fresh abductions and repeated attacks across Chibok community and now Kautikari which is miles away from Chibok have triggered urgent calls from EYN leadership for government and security agencies to act swiftly. Church officials warn that the consistent targeting of Christian residents signals a growing pattern of violence and persecution in Chibok, heightening fear, displacement, and trauma among the population.
