In a brazen attack, unknown gunmen invaded Njilang community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State yesterday, January 1, 2025, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
Eyewitnesses report that the attackers set fire to several properties, including the EYN LCC Njilang Church, the pastor’s residence, three shops, and six houses. Additionally, eight Bicycles were burnt, and one “carry-go” motorcycle was stolen. Several other properties were also destroyed during the assault.
The motive behind the attack is still unclear, and authorities have yet to release a statement on the incident.
This latest attack has raised concerns about the ongoing security challenges in the region and the need for increased protection for vulnerable communities.
