The Vice President of Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (EYN), Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba, chaire the granting of autonomy to two Local Church Branches (LCBs), Tighime (established in 1989) and Nkafa Melme (established in 1963). The historic event, held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Michika, marked their official independence from LCC Barki Dlaka under DCC Nkafa.

Vice President’s Charge to the New LCCs
In his address, Rev. Abba, who read from Galatians 5:1 and 13, described Michika as a blessed land that has produced many leaders who continue to make progress in ministry. He urged members of the newly established LCCs to take their oath seriously, remain faithful to the church constitution, and uphold the structures guiding EYN.

The Vice President strongly cautioned pastors and church committee members against diverting church funds, noting that such acts amount to stealing from God. He encouraged the new leaders of LCC Tighime and Nkafa Milime to maintain cordial relationships with their predecessors, stressing that such cooperation would foster peace, growth, and stability.
Rev. Abba also stressed the need for pastors to love one another and extend that love to their members, building unity and strong relationships that would sustain the church.
“We are wounded people, but we are healers,” he said, charging the clergy and members alike to show compassion and work together to overcome the challenges of ministry.
Remarks from Michika Leadership
Representing the Emir of Michika, His Royal Highness Prof. Bulus Gadiga, was Ngidda Zakawa Hakimin Michika. He expressed delight at the historic occasion, urging members to be intentional in pursuing the growth of the church. He explained that the Emir could not attend as he is currently on pilgrimage.
Sermon Highlights: Fulfilling the Gospel Mandate
Delivering the sermon, Rev. Peter Julde, National Evangelism Coordinator, preached from Acts 8:4 with the theme “Determine to Finish the Race on Fulfilling the Mandate” (Matthew 28).

He explained that Jesus gave the Great Commission to begin evangelism at home, extend it to neighboring villages, and finally to the ends of the earth. However, the early disciples became distracted by political struggles and focused on resisting the Roman Empire rather than praying for boldness to spread the gospel.
Rev. Julde warned that their decision to remain in one place brought conflict and disunity among believers, serving as a reminder that when the church fails to expand willingly, hardship may arise that forces believers to carry out God’s mission.
“If you refuse to spread the gospel in times of peace, persecution will drive you to do so,” he said, stressing that the mission of the church is not comfort, but commitment to Christ’s mandate.
He further emphasized that the church must not only exist for itself but must impact its community and the world beyond. According to him, “We are blessed to bless others. We are called to be the light of the nations, carriers of hope, and agents of transformation wherever we go.”
Rev. Julde concluded by charging the new LCCs, Tighime and Nkafa Milime, to see their autonomy as a responsibility to expand evangelism, disciple new believers, and remain faithful to finishing the race entrusted to them by Christ.

The event was graced by several key EYN officials, including Bro. Ayuba U. Balami, Director of Finance; Mrs. Hassana Habu, Director of Women’s Ministry; Rev. Musa Arhadila, EYN Hotelier; and Rev. Dauda Arfau, Staff of Missions Department.
