In his address, Rev. Nuhu Mutah Abba conveyed heartfelt greetings and solidarity from the EYN leadership to the affected families and communities. He acknowledged the pain, loss, and suffering experienced by the victims and assured them that the church remained committed to standing with them during their difficult moments.

Drawing encouragement from the Holy Scriptures, the Vice President shared a message from Matthew 5:10–12, reminding the victims of God’s faithfulness and the hope that believers have even amid persecution and hardship.

Quoting the passage, he said:

“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

Rev. Abba encouraged the victims not to lose hope despite the tragic experiences they had endured. He urged them to remain steadfast in their faith, trust in God’s protection, and continue praying for peace and restoration in their communities. He emphasized that God had not abandoned them and that the church family across EYN was standing with them in prayer and support.

The Vice President further commended the efforts of ICBDP, the Community Development Department, and Bread for the World Ministry (BROT) for their partnership in bringing relief assistance to the affected families. He noted that such interventions reflect the church’s commitment to responding to human suffering and promoting the well-being of vulnerable people.
