EYN Leadership Offers Support and Encouragement
Today 10th October, 2025. In a compassionate show of solidarity, the leadership of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria (EYN) paid a heartfelt visit to the community of Waga Mongoro in Madagali Local Government Area, Adamawa State, following a recent attack by unidentified gunmen.

Leading the delegation was the EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y.C. Mbaya, PhD who delivered a stirring message of hope and resilience to the affected residents. Drawing inspiration from the book of John 16:1–2, Rev. Mbaya reminded the community that the trials they face are not without spiritual significance, and may reflect the fulfillment of scripture. He urged the people to remain steadfast in their faith in Christ Jesus, even in the face of adversity.

To comfort those who lost loved ones and property in the attack, Rev. Mbaya offered words of encouragement and spiritual support. In a tangible act of compassion, the EYN leadership provided financial assistance to 33 households who suffered property losses, granting each family ₦100,000 to aid in their recovery.
The visit also included a solemn prayer session for divine protection and peace over Waga Mongoro and the entire nation.

Acting District Head of Waga Mongoro, Ibrahim Zidko, expressed profound gratitude to the EYN President and his delegation. “Indeed, we have a father over us in the person of the EYN President. His presence has brought us comfort,” he said. Zidko also voiced concern over the plight of young girls in the community, many of whom remain out of school due to the prevailing insecurity. He appealed to the government to intervene and provide urgent support to restore education and stability in the region.
The visit by EYN leadership stands as a beacon of hope and a call for collective action to support communities affected by violence and displacement.
