The wife of the EYN President, Mrs. Abigail Mbaya, delivered a spirit-filled sermon during the ZME Sing-Song Service held at EYN LCC Utan. Preaching on the theme “Praise and Thanksgiving to the Lord in All Situations” drawn from Psalm 103:1–22: “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name” (v.1), she reminded the congregation that thanksgiving is not optional but a command that strengthens faith and glorifies God even in difficult times.

This year’s ZME Sing-Song Service carried a special significance as it was held in commemoration of the ZME women leaders who were involved in a tragic accident last year while returning home from a leadership course at the EYN Headquarters. Although the incident brought pain and sorrow, the survival and healing of many was seen as a testimony of God’s faithfulness. The service therefore became a moment of collective gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment to God.

In her sermon, Mrs. Mbaya urged women and the entire church to learn from the experience by always giving thanks in all circumstances, trusting God’s sovereign will. She emphasized that gratitude in trials opens the door for deeper fellowship with God and strengthens the body of Christ.

The EYN President, Rev. Daniel Y. C. Mbaya, who accompanied his wife, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the congregation for standing by the ZME women during their time of trial. “The strength of the church lies in her unity and commitment to spiritual growth,” he said. “Let us continue to serve God faithfully and work together to fulfill the vision of a united and prosperous church.”

He further encouraged members to remain steadfast in service, to show love to one another, and to live as true ambassadors of Christ within their communities.

The service was marked by powerful song ministrations, emotional testimonies, and heartfelt thanksgiving, creating an atmosphere of joy and reverence.
