Under the inspiring leadership of Mrs. Martha A. Apagu, (Uwar DCC Uba), thousands of members of the EYN family gathered from 4th to 7th March for the annual Majalisa, united under the theme “Follow the Old Road” drawn from Jeremiah 6:16b.

The gathering became more than just a meeting; it was a spiritual journey that brought together men and women from different Local Church Councils (LCCs) within the district to seek God, reflect on their faith, and strengthen their commitment to Christian living.

Throughout the four-day event, participants were deeply blessed by powerful teachings from the guest preacher, Rev. Zakariya A. Talaka, who delivered messages centered on returning to the ancient path of righteousness and obedience to God. In his sermons, Rev. Talaka reminded believers of the timeless instruction found in the book of Jeremiah — to stand at the crossroads, ask for the old paths, seek the good way, and walk in it.

According to the preacher, the “old road” represents the enduring values of faith, humility, obedience, and devotion that have sustained the Church through generations. He urged the congregation not to be distracted by changing trends in society but to remain rooted in the Word of God.

“If we follow the good road and walk in it,” he emphasized, “we will find rest for our souls.”

The Majalisa was not only spiritually enriching but also vibrant with activities that encouraged participation and unity among members. The third day of the event stood out as one of the most engaging moments of the gathering. It featured a variety of activities including a Bible Quiz competition, presentations of ZME progressive reports, and financial reports highlighting the development and stewardship efforts within the district.

Participants also showcased their gifts and creativity through talent displays, while the offering competition reflected the commitment of members toward supporting the work of God. The atmosphere was further energized by a colorful praise session, where choirs from various LCCs competed in a spirited song competition that filled the gathering with joyful worship.

Beyond the competitions and reports, the Majalisa served as a platform for strengthening fellowship among believers and renewing the collective commitment of the EYN family to uphold the principles of the Christian faith.

As the gathering concluded, participants returned to their various congregations inspired and encouraged to live according to the theme — to follow the old road, the path that leads to spiritual rest, unity, and faithfulness to God.

The Majalisa at DCC Uba therefore stood not only as a celebration of fellowship and faith but also as a renewed call for believers to remain steadfast on the path that God has set before His people.
